General MacArthur dogmatically worked to protect and advance the interests of his country and his soldiers.
One can describe MacArthur's strategic and well-executed plan as: "He took the enemy by surprise, liberated Seoul in eleven days and, by October 1st of 1950, brought UN forces—primarily composed of Americans—back to the 38th parallel that the North Koreans had crossed” Once MacArthur had the idea of crossing the 38th parallel, he took both his troops and UN forces to the 38th parallel to cross it. He executed his actions carefully and precisely which can be seen in the obvious result as MacArthur gained control of Seoul. MacArthur went to any measure to defend his country and those around him against the enemy.

MacArthur's capturing of Seoul, "completely changed the course of the war overnight by ordering -- over nearly unanimous objections -- an amphibious invasion at the port of Inchon, near Seoul." His strategies-although sometimes extreme-almost always resulted in his victories- as shown in his techniques during Battle of Inchon. Crossing the 38th parallel was a dangerous move but resulted in the US gaining control of Seoul and allowing us to cut off the enemy’s supply line.
